Review: Karma Se7en Jewellery

There's a lot of reasons I don't particularly plan on getting piercings - above all, an irrational dislike of committing to anything regarding my appearance. This is revealed at its most absurd regarding the only piercing I have seriously considered; a septum piercing, probably the easiest to hide and the most easily removed. I accept all judgement you heap on me, piercing aficionados.

Karma Se7en recently sent me some (very well packaged) faux septum clickers along with an ear cuff (some of which you'll have seen already if you've got me on instagram or twitter), and I'm really happy with these pieces. They're much more difficult to bend and get in than the septum ring I reviewed from Body Jewellery Shop - gosh, that was a while ago - and do wobble slightly on account of being heavier pieces (like a real piercing, how high/low these sit depends on your own personal anatomy, and some suit me better than others), but they're well made and have a range of designs I really love, and all for buy-one-get-one-free. All designs are available for pierced noses too. The ear cuff is even better, being comfortable and easy to bend around your ear.

And what's the point of going through the hassle of a piercing when I can just pop one of these beauties in and carry on with my day? I'm lazy, but that doesn't mean I need to compromise.

Outfit: Noctex Axis Dress

As previously mentioned, I've been experiencing the clothing equivalent of cabin fever for the past month or two, and though I'm still facing frustration getting dressed (and disturbingly discovered yesterday that I have less clothes than Ben) I have some wriggle room now after several strategic purchases.

I've been interested in the goth ninja trend for a while, and found out about Noctex Clothing by Negin Izad via tumblr (obviously). I had to own a piece of their collection from the previous season before it dissipated, and decided on the Axis Dress. Though all of Izad's clothing is very reasonably priced (even with international shipping it wasn't unreasonable) I feel incredibly privileged in getting to support a small designer, particularly one with such a passion for ethical production of clothing.

The dress itself arrived promptly and in perfect condition, and I love the lines and the multifunctional element included (you can see many of the different ways you can wear the hood here); I wanted to do it justice by not over-embellishing it, and decided on tall, military boots and my waist belt. As I go on, I want increasingly to pare my style back to tank tops, shorts and simple black dresses.

Review: Body Jewellery Shop

Today, readers, we have something new; the first review of this blog.

I was emailed during August asking if I would be interested in reviewing some products from Body Jewellery Shop, and after browsing their online store I was very keen. The range of products for different piercings is impressive, as is the range of materials and information on piercings - indeed, they have lots of guidance on what you should be considering when choosing a piercer, aftercare and even videos of some piercings being done.

Disclaimer: I was contacted by a representative of body jewellery shop to carry out this review; I was given £20 worth of jewellery for free, but was not otherwise paid or reimbursed. All opinions are 100% my own, based on feedback given by my testers.
